At Expo 2020 the Luxembourg Pavilion was showcasing different resources of the country, from its richness of nature to its multicultural society. Our sound scenography created a dramaturgical arch throughout the pavilion while it elevated the exhibition into an emotional journey.

We composed 6 orchestra pieces to underpin the different chapters of the exhibition:From the entrance area up until the highlight movie where the pavilion experience culminates. Each composition is inspired by the topic of the corresponding chapter, like Diversity, Enterprising, or Connectivity.
Even though all the pieces evoke a different ambiance, they were designed to seamlessly blend into each other. Together they build a cohesive sonic experience, one big spatial composition that extends over the entire pavilion.

Luxembourg's own musicians - the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (OPL) - became not only the expressive core element in our sound concept, but an integral part of the experience. While the visitors are walking along the physical space, acoustically they are moving through the OPL. This is realised by representing each section of instruments through loudspeakers.
